Packing List

What to Bring

 

• Clothes for camp. Shirts with sleeves, long pants for horse riding and hiking.

• Jumper (it can be cold at night), Warm Clothes

• Sneakers

• Water proof parka or raincoat.

• Bed Linen – sleeping bag, sheets, pillow, pillow slips, blankets, etc.

• Towel

• Toiletries

• Torch

• Water Bottle

• Swimmers

• Old shoes and clothes and/or overalls for caving

• Clothes that can get stained for messy activities

• Plastic bag for dirty and/or wet clothes

• Sunscreen, hat and insect repellent

• Money for the Snack Bar. (Banking is available)

• Bandana or scarf to wear under helmets. If you do not have one, they can be purchased from our Snack Bar for $4

What NOT to Bring:

• Any expensive items which may be “misplaced”

• Radios, walkmans, mobile phones (we don’t get reception), MP3 players etc.

• Knives or other sharp and dangerous implements

• Matches or lighters

• Chewing or Bubble Gum

Mountain Trails does not take responsibility for items that “grow legs” and go missing. If any restricted items are brought they will be confiscated and returned only at your drop off point at the end of the week.

Cabin baggage limit:

We are struggling to fit baggage on the bus, in particular large hard suitcases. If possible can you try to bring smaller soft bags (e.g. sports bags)

Payments:

Full payment is required 7 days prior to the commencement of camp.

Health Issues:

Any health problems not notified on your application form should be done so in confidence to the Camp Director. We request that you send only the amount of medication required during camp. Mountain Trails is not responsible for returning excess medication.

Snack Bar:

Snack Bar will run for periods during the day to feed those addicted to sugar!

Photo DVD:

At the end of camp we sell DVDs with all the photos that were taken on camp. DVDs cost $10 each.

Mountain Trails Clothing/Merchandise:

We also sell Mountain Trails clothing in the Snack Bar. T-Shirts for $15, Beanies for $12 and Mountain Trails Hoodie Jumpers for $32.

Bank:

A bank will also be run to secure your pocket money. You are encouraged to use it.

Smoking:

Smoking is NOT PERMITTED on any of our School Holiday Camps. Any cigarettes found will be confiscated and destroyed. Alcohol and illegal drugs are prohibited.

Damage:

From time to time damage, like broken windows, occurs. We appreciate accidents do happen, however wilful damage or the results of careless behaviour means we must charge you for the cost of repairs.

Behaviour Management:

At Mountain Trails we aim to provide all participants with a safe, fun program. To do this we have basic guidelines for participant behaviour. In the event that a participant cannot abide by these rules, they will be asked to be collected by their parent/guardian. Mountain Trails may not be able to provide transport, so please have a back up.

Child Care Benefit:

We are registered with the Department of Family and Community Services new agency the Family Assistance Office (FAO) to enable you to claim the Child Care Benefit on your fees. You may be entitled to a rebate on part of the camp fees if you are working, studying or seeking work. If you intend to claim this benefit, please indicate this on your Application form and a special receipt will be issued. For further information about how this is calculated, please call the FAO on 13 61 50.

Telephone:

The phone at Mountain Trails’ campsite is for incoming calls only. There is no public phone. Campers are not permitted to use the phone unless the matter is approved by the Camp Program Director.
